Seoul sexpo highlights adult industry

SEOUL (UPI) -- South Korea's version of Australia's Sexpo is under way in Seoul.

Organizers of the 2006 Seoul Sex Education Expo say the event is intended to enlighten the public about sexual health, while critics contend the event is a pretext to promote pornography, Chosun Ilbo reported.

The event will feature seminars on sex, medical consultations, exhibitions of sex toys and accessories, lingerie fashion show and strip shows, the newspaper said.

Chosun Ilbo says the original Sexpo has been held in Australia for a decade as a promotion venue for the adult industry.

The Seoul Sexpo says it hopes to "provide accurate information about sex, foster a more open approach towards sex, and search for a means of revitalizing the flagging domestic adult industry," the newspaper reported.

Child porn revenge frame-up revealed

CHICAGO IL (UPI) -- A Chicago man who admitted to putting child pornography on his boss' computer says it was revenge for the man's refusal of his sexual advances.

Maurice Vallejo, 36, made his first court appearance Tuesday, where bail was set at $75,000 on a felony possession of child pornography charge.

Vallejo admitted to investigators he was upset his supervisor had spurned his advances and that he retrieved the images from the Internet himself, Assistant State's Atty. Kathleen Muldoon said.

Court documents show Vallejo contacted police May 18 to report finding the pornography on his boss' computer at the Advocate Bethany Hospital, and in a June 5 raid, police found hundreds of illegal images, Muldoon said.

However, under interrogation, Vallejo admitted he had downloaded the images "to get back at his boss" for spurning his advances, the Chicago Tribune reported.

His trial date was set for Sept. 11.

Festival queen steps down over sexy videos

GREENVILLE MI (UPI) -- Michigan's Danish Festival queen has turned in her crown after the festival board learned she had appeared in allegedly questionable online videos.

The videos showed her wearing lingerie while wrestling with men and other women, the Grand Rapids Press reported.

The newspaper said 19-year-old Carissa Akkerhuis resigned just two weeks after being named queen of the popular Greenville, Mich., festival. The festival president said pageant contestants sign a contract agreeing to represent the festival and community as a role model.

Lucas Rowten, co-owner of Lusa Entertainment, the company that produced the videos, said his sites feature no nudity or extreme violence. "We feel it's the same thing you can see on regular cable television. You can open any lingerie catalogue and see this," he told the newspaper.

Sex toy suspect 'outed' in shop window

A Wellington sex store owner is defending his "name and shame" tactics after posting a photo of a man, suspected of shoplifting a penis pump, in his shop window.


The Erox Lifestyle Centre, on the corner of Vivian and Cuba streets, has caught the eye of passers-by for not the usual reasons after staff put up the photo. A security footage photo features a man who allegedly put the $109.95 sex aid under his hoodie and left the shop without paying. A note above the photo says: "When will he pay for the penis pump he stole?"

Auckland-based Erox director John Frew said he was fed up with shoplifting from his nine North Island stores and the recently employed tactic had resulted in several people returning to pay for stolen items.

Shoplifting was usually reported to police, but he had found that unless the thief was instantly recognised by officers, cases were not followed up.

"Shoplifting tends to be at the bottom of the priority list for police. All I want is the man who accidently put the penis pump up his jumper and left the store to come back and pay for it."

Mugshots of suspected shoplifters were also posted online. The company's website featured security photos of another five people who allegedly took items from other stores.

Mr Frew said security cameras had only recently been installed in his two Wellington shops and the alleged penis pump thief was the capital's first to grace his wanted list.
