Brothel owner offers petrol discounts

A SYDNEY brothel owner has resorted to offering petrol discounts to clients in a bid to boost business.

Madam Kerry's brothel in western Sydney offers clients a discount of 20c a litre if they use one of its "service providers".

Kerry said high petrol prices were hurting the sex service market as much as any other industry.

"We wanted to think outside the box, we have gone quieter with the high petrol prices and we wanted to find a way to give something back to our clients," Kerry told AAP.

And on top of the money back from the brothel, motorists could still claim the 4c discount offered by service stations aligned with supermarket chains.

"They just need to bring in the docket," Kerry said.

The latest discount petrol offer came as Prime Minister John Howard said he would not be converting his V8 commonwealth car to gas, despite encouraging other Australians to do so.

"There are security considerations," Mr Howard told ABC Radio in Adelaide, when asked why he would not convert the commonwealth's number one vehicle to LPG.

But Mr Howard did say the car used ethanol-blended fuel.

"We use ethanol," he said.

Petrol prices appear to be on the way down anyway, amid welcome news from the world oil market.

Crude prices dropped in New York last night after news the first serious tropical storm of the northern hurricane season had veered away from oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Light sweet crude for October delivery fell US96c to $US69.65 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The fall extended a $US1.90 drop yesterday, leaving oil futures roughly 10 per cent below their level of just three weeks ago.

Ex-mayor enters plea on child porn charges

[Chicago Tribune] - The former mayor of Green Oaks pleaded not guilty today in Lake County Circuit Court to possessing and distributing child pornography.

Tom Adams, 68, is charged with 16 counts of distribution of child porn and 17 counts of possession of child porn. He was arrested in July at his home after a search warrant was executed.

Adams is accused of sending pornographic images of children over the Internet from his home, said Assistant State's Atty. Patricia Fix. Child porn also was found on his home computer, she said.

Adams, who once served as chairman of the Lake County Republican Party, resigned earlier this month as mayor and was replaced by senior Trustee Bernard Wysocki. Adams is free on $100,000 bail.

Judge Victoria Rossetti set Adams' next court date for Oct. 17 and scheduled his trial for Nov. 6.

Jessica Simpson Loses Voice Amid New Album PR Blitz

NEW YORK [AP] — Talk about bad timing. At the start of a media blitz to support her new album, "A Public Affair," Jessica Simpson is on vocal rest.

"It is true that she has indeed lost her voice," Simpson's publicist, Rob Shuter, told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "She's been ordered to rest. ... She can talk, she can croak out a few sentences. She sounds a little off, but, you know, she can't sing."

Simpson, 26, fell ill Friday and has "a strain, a bruise on her vocal cord," Shuter told the AP.


She canceled a planned appearance on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman" this week but was to appear on MTV's "Total Request Live" on Tuesday afternoon to promote the album -- but not sing, Shuter said.

Simpson hopes her condition improves by Friday, when she is scheduled to perform on NBC's "Today" show, he said.

"She's trying," Shuter said. "Everybody is hoping and keeping their fingers crossed."

Strahan singing a new tune

The New York Post reported that the new "mystery gal" of Giants sack king Michael Strahan is a sultry R&B singer, Stefani Vara. Pals of Vara, a Texas-born woman who is signed to Siri Records, say the two met through mutual friends and have been dating for "two to three months. ... They are very low-key together. She goes to his games and they go to eat. She really likes him." Strahan recently went through a very nasty and very public divorce from former wife Jean, which included veiled allegations he was gay to accusations he taped his sister-in-law while she undressed. Strahan refuses to discuss his divorce, other than to criticize his soon-to-be-ex-wife and the newspapers that covered the proceedings.

Hilton CD a Flop ... Elijah Blue Allman thought he got an STD from her

[NY Post] - PARIS Hilton's career as a pop star is fizzling as quickly as one of her blink-and-you'll-miss-it relationships.

In its first week out of the gate, Hilton's first CD is being widely seen as a certified flop. "Paris," which features the single "Stars Are Blind," sold a lackluster 75,000 copies in the United States - a pittance compared to Christina Aguilera's first-week sales of 320,000, according to Soundscan.

And projected sales for next week are said to be a measly 30,000, which is a larger than normal second week drop.

"Paris" is languishing at the bottom of Billboard's Hot 100 - so Hilton's label rushed out her second single, "Turn It Up," which isn't doing very well either.

"The international outlook is not much better for her," one industry source told Page Six. "The international people are not inclined to do a big push since she can't back up the album with a tour. Obviously, she can't sing live."

The source added that Hilton was advised a year ago to train her voice, work with choreographers and learn an instrument to prepare for a limited tour, but "obviously she didn't listen."

Hilton's rep, Elliot Mintz, said, "To me, [the album] sounds huge. For a newcomer, this is incredibly impressive."

Meanwhile, Hilton's reputation as a dirty girl put one of her former sex partners on edge after they'd been to bed together.

Elijah Blue Allman, the hunky son of Cher and Gregg Allman, boasted to Howard Stern the other day that he had a fling with Hilton before she was famous - but he got nervous right afterward that he might have picked up a sexually transmitted disease from her. Allman says he was so worried, he raced downstairs and grabbed a household cleaning product to pour over his private parts and "disinfect" them.

While Stern flipped over the tawdry tale, aired over his Sirius Satellite Radio raunchfest show, Hilton wasn't thrilled with the disclosure. "She's not happy about it," said a source, despite the fact Allman tried to lessen the low blow by noting she was a "sweet girl" nonetheless.

Jon Dough Passes Away

Porn Valley [Adultfyi.com/Gene Ross] - It's being reported that Hall of Famer Jon Dough passed away Sunday. According to a report on avn.com, Dough's wife, Monique Demoan, with whom he had a four year-old daughter, said that Dough, aka Chet Anuszek, 43, had taken his life. In an interview, Brian Surewood, a friend of Dough's alluded to personal problems Dough had been having.

I knew Dough from the fact that we shared something of a bond having spent spent some time working in steel mills. Dough was a quiet guy with a very dry sense of humor. A very nice man. Dough was from the Pittsburgh area and got into the business around 1984. In 1989 he married Diedre Holland and they pretty much worked exclusively as a couple for awhile and were divorced in 1994. Probably about the time he met Demoan. Dough will probably be best remembered for a movie he did in 1997 called The World's Luckiest Man in which he had sex with 101 women.

Childress vows to keep his Vikings in line

[AP] -Taking his turn in a tackling drill with the rest of Minnesota's defensive backs, veteran safety Dwight Smith drove his arms up through the dummy. On the practice field, everything appeared normal for the Vikings on Sunday. Lingering in the air, though, was another off-the-field embarrassment. This time it involved Smith, who was cited for alleged indecent conduct with a 24-year-old woman in a stairwell near a downtown nightclub. Coach Brad Childress said he would discipline Smith. "Good things, unfortunately, get marred when somebody in our organization misbehaves," Childress said. "We are committed in this organization ... to doing things the right way." The organization was ridiculed last year for former coach Mike Tice's scalping of Super Bowl tickets, former running back Onterrio Smith's possession of a device to beat drug tests and its infamous boat party.
