Anchorage strippers sue for back pay

stripper.jpg ANCHORAGE (UPI) -- Three Alaskan strippers are suing their employers for back pay, claiming the club owners are not following state laws.

Shanna Thornton and two other dancers are suing the Anchorage strip clubs Fantasies on 5th Avenue and Crazy Horse. They say they are owed back pay related to minimum wage, overtime and fees they had to pay the clubs, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

The two clubs deny the allegations.

The newspaper said a two-week paycheck dated from June shows Thornton worked 23 hours, but after deductions earned $7.41 at the club.

"I'm sorry, I'm not in this business for any other purpose than to make money," Thornton told the newspaper. "And, I'm not going to go dance and perform for McDonald's wages."

Thornton says she was forced to tip the bartenders, bouncers and other club employees from her earnings. The head of Alaska's division of labor standards and safety says it is against state law to require workers to tip their colleagues, the newspaper said.

Men Wanted Sex with Dead Woman

Wisconsin State Journal - Three men charged with attempting to rob a grave Saturday in Cassville were doing so because one of the men had seen the dead woman's obituary photo and wanted to have sex with her body, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Grant County Circuit Court.

The men had stopped at a Wal-Mart and bought condoms before heading to the cemetery, police said.

"One of the crimes we study in abnormal criminal behavior is necrophilia. I guess that would be the motive," Grant County Sheriff Keith Govier said Tuesday, adding that he had never before dealt with such a case.

Govier said the men apparently didn't know the dead woman.

"They just saw her obituary picture in the newspaper," he said.

Cassville Police Officer Brent McDonald was sent to St. Charles Cemetery in Cassville about 11 p.m. Saturday on a citizen's report of a suspicious vehicle.

McDonald found Alex Grunke, 20, of Ridgeway, dressed in black.

Grunke was "extremely nervous" and "sweating on a very cool night," McDonald said in an interview. Grunke told McDonald that two other men were in the cemetery digging up the grave of Laura Tennessen, 20, who died Aug. 27 after being thrown from the back of a motorcycle.

At Tennessen's grave, officers found a hole that uncovered the concrete vault that encases the coffin. The two men were gone.

Sunday morning, Nicholas Grunke, 20, of Ridgeway, and Dustin Radke, 20, of Dodgeville, were found walking along Highway 81 in Beetown, about eight miles from the cemetery. The Grunkes are twin brothers.

Each man was charged with being party to attempted third- degree sexual assault and being party to attempted misdemeanor theft. Bond was set at $1,000 each for the Grunke brothers and $1,500 for Radke.

According to the complaint, Radke told police that Nicholas Grunke asked him to help dig up the grave so that Grunke could take the corpse behind his house in Ridgeway and have sexual intercourse with the body. On the way to the cemetery, the men stopped at the Dodgeville Wal-Mart and bought condoms, Radke told police.

Man Dies After Scuffle Over Strip Club Bill

(AP) LOS ANGELES Authorities say a 26-year-old San Francisco accountant was killed in a scuffle over a 960 dollar dance bill at a Santa Barbara strip club.

Police say David Klotz died just hours after he and his friends went to Santa Barbara's Spearmint Rhino Adult Cabaret early Saturday to celebrate a friend's wedding.

Police say a scuffle ensued when Klotz protested a $960 bill for a 70-minute private session with one of the dancers.

By the time police arrived he was having difficulty breathing, and paramedics were called. He was taken to Cottage Hospital, where he died.

The coroner's office has not determined the cause of death.

A new Internet network brewing

anheuserbusch_logo.jpg [Chicago Tribune] - When some 22 million people clicked on Anheuser-Busch Cos.' commercials in the days after Super Bowl XL last February, company executives took notice.

Video on the Web is for real, the beer executives concluded. And the company needed to be there in a big way.

On Wednesday, the nation's largest beer company, which also is one of television's biggest advertisers, is expected to announce the launch of its own Internet-based programming network called Bud.TV to launch Feb. 5, the day after the next Super Bowl.

Geared mainly to 21-to-27-year-olds, the online venture will offer roughly seven "channels" of original and exclusive content, ranging from sports to comedy to reality shows. The company even expects to re-invent the "Dating Game" on one of its channels.

Developed out of the company's marketing and media divisions, the decision to start its own programming arm is a result of research showing that 21-to-34-year-olds spend up to six hours a day on the Internet.

The creator of Budweiser, Bud Light and other products is the latest consumer products company to move significant advertising dollars from traditional TV and print outlets to the Web.

Such moves have been nerve-wracking for networks, magazines and newspapers, which have pushed to expand their own online offerings in an effort to recapture lost advertising revenue.

Though Anheuser-Busch said it is not giving up on traditional media, it acknowledged that it has to go where its consumers are going.

Tony Ponturo, vice president of global media and sports marketing, wouldn't say how much the company is spending on the venture. Beginning in 2007, however, the company will allocate about 10 percent, or roughly $60 million, of its $550 million annual advertising budget on online ventures, including Bud.TV.

Ponturo said the new venture will be funded out of its traditional media budget, including TV, where Anheuser-Busch spends the bulk of its ad dollars. It remains the biggest ad spender on the Super Bowl, which may be used to help promote its online channels.

It is rare for an advertiser to control programming. In the world of traditional media, Anheuser-Busch's advertising helps support the cost of delivering programming or content produced by others.

With its online venture, however, Anheuser-Busch will oversee the site and employ two full-time producers overseeing costs. DDB Chicago, its lead advertising agency, will help administer and manage the site.

"We have to deliver original and proprietary programming," said Jim Schumacker, Anheuser-Busch's vice president of creative development who was tapped to head the venture. Schumacker added that "no one knows our customers better than we do."

Schumacker said there are no plans, other than a channel allowing consumers to develop their own Bud commercials, to use it as a platform for Bud ads. However, the company will integrate products into the programming when it sees opportunities to do so.

Shows will range from one-to-five-minute comedy segments, called "Happy Hour," featuring former Saturday Night Live writer Matt Piedmont.

Anheuser-Busch will also build a show around Fox play-by-play announcer Joe Buck.

Also on tap are a reality channel, which will include the "Dating Game," a Hollywood Channel, including original films from Kevin Spacey's TriggerStreet.com project, and a sports channel that will include exclusive content from Major League Baseball, NASCAR and the National Hockey League, among others.

When Animals Attack: Part 2

LANESVILLE IN [AP] -- A 14-foot pet python crushed its owner to death, authorities said Tuesday after finding the snake loose in a southern Indiana shed with the man's body.

Patrick Von Allmen, 23, was found Monday evening in the shed near Lanesville, about 15 miles west of Louisville, Ky.

A medical examiner determined that the death was consistent with asphyxiation caused by compression of the neck and chest, said Conservation Officer Mark Farmer.

"When you're dealing with a wild animal species, you take on a certain amount of risk," he said.

Von Allmen had told family members he was going to treat the snake for a medical condition, farmer said. He was alone in the shed with the python for about three hours before his body was found.

Relatives said Von Allmen had 10 to 12 years of experience handling reptiles, according to authorities. The family got the snake as a pet five months ago, Farmer said.

Indiana law does not restrict ownership of snakes, and the python was returned to the family.

Kelly Madison Drops 413 name

KellyMadison.jpg Los Angeles, CA Adult Film Star Kelly Madison (Owner of the successful Web enterprise KellyMadison.com and Pornfidelity.com as well as the enormously popular PornFidelity DVD series), has dropped the name 413 Productions and will now run all of her movie titles through Kelly Madison Productions.

Recently, Kelly Madison and her husband Ryan launched Kellycash.com, the affiliate program for all natural 34FF Kelly Madison's official website, KellyMadison.com and her three-some site, Pornfidelity.com. Kelly Madison also launched Kellyfind.com, a free online adult content database created by Kelly Madison, has exceeded 7,000 girls. The website was built and staffed by 413 productions, which not only contains more than 7,000 models at this date, but over 50,000 galleries in its database.

“Ryan and I decided that 413 Productions needed a makeover, and what better way than to create an umbrella production company that encompasses all of our ‘hard’ work! Thus, Kelly Madison Productions was born, and we are excited with the endless possibilities. Kelly Clarkson, eat your heart out!”

Kelly Madison discusses the changes to her company. “Changing the name of our production entity better reflects my hands on approach to every aspect of our video production company. I have always been the one to make all the final decisions and success or failure has always been reflective of my personal choices so we thought the name of the company should represent that.”

“413 Productions came about because we started in an old warehouse, penniless, and that place happened to have the address 413. We began our company wanting to do websites for other people and be more service oriented. After seeing the success of our own projects such as kellymadison.com, pornfidelity.com and kellyfind.com we figured out that my name and personality was more profitable than the other projects. We dropped the other sites and now we are embracing the name Kelly Madison Productions to better reflect the products we produce. We look forward to making a name in the adult industry as producing DVD’s that are original in theme and boasts the quality consumers require.”

Kelly and Ryan take pride in the fact that the both of them do everything from casting, filming, editing, website production and even their own banking and customer service. The company has become a one stop shop, taking on the responsibility to making their fans happy.

Longhorns Brown, Gatewood arrested

Texas_4673.jpg AUSTIN TX (UPI) -- University of Texas Longhorns Tarell Brown and Tyrell Gatewood could be forced to sit out of Saturday's game following arrests on drug and weapon charges.

Brown, the third-ranked team's starting cornerback, linebacker Gatewood and former Longhorn Aaron Harris were taken to the Travis County Jail Monday after being pulled over by police. Harris was reportedly driving the car.

All three men were charged with drug offenses related to marijuana, and Brown was also charged with carrying a weapon, a loaded 9mm pistol.

"We are aware of the situation with Tarell (Brown) and Tyrell (Gatewood) and have met with both of them," Texas head coach Mack Brown said in a statement Monday. "We're working closely with the young men and the authorities. At this time, we are holding them out of all team functions as we gather as much information as possible before making a team decision."
