Greenpeace: Sex toys contain dangerous chemicals

THE HAGUE [AFP] - Environmental group Greenpeace called on the European Union to ban the use of chemical plastic softeners in sex toys because they contained dangerous substances known as phthalates.

"Adult sex toys contain the same toxic substances that the European Union banned from use in children's toys," Greenpeace said in a press release from its international headquarters here.

The environmental group said it was shocked to find that seven of the eight sex toys it had tested contained between 24 and 51 percent of phthalates.

"It is unbelievable that such toxic substances can be used in adult toys. We have tested many products in the last few years but never have we encountered such high concentrations," Greenpeace spokesman Bart van Opzeeland said.

Greenpeace research has shown that phthalates can disrupt the human hormonal system, diminishes fertility and adversely affects the kidneys and liver.

The substance is used to soften plastics and PVC plastic. Greenpeace stressed that a ban on phthalates would not mean the disappearance of people's favourite sex toys as there are plenty of non-toxic alternatives.

Effort to legalize brothel causes fuss

Fgallery1-1.jpg LONDON (UPI) -- Plans for a massage parlor above a British sweet shop, only yards from a Merseyside school, are drawing fire from the neighborhood.

Opponents say the formal business application is an effort to legalize a brothel, known as the Sophistokats, said to be operating quietly in the same location, The Liverpool Echo reported.

The newspaper revealed the alleged brothel's existence in January, but so far nothing has been done about it, the paper said. Police say they have no criminal complaints against the place.

Auto-eroticism undoes driver

BRATISLAVA (Reuters) - A Slovak driver who crashed into a bus shocked rescuers who found him unconscious and half naked with a vacuum pump on his penis.

Police said the 42-year-old man, driving an old Citroen in the Slovak town of Levice, had ignored a "give way" sign.

"It's very likely he had auto-sex while driving, it is a matter of investigation. After the accident he was found lying in the seat, his pants were off and it (the pump) was placed on his penis," police officer Peter Polak told Reuters.

"I've never seen anything like this, nor have my colleagues," he added.

The man was taken to hospital with head injuries.

Peeping Tom Charge Filed: Shutterbug hears snap of handcuffs

creep.jpg Tulsa OK [Tulsaworld.com] - SAND SPRINGS -- A shutterbug from Tulsa who reportedly thought it was legal to snap a photo under an unsuspecting woman's dress will have to tell his story to a judge.

Darwin Dion Batton, 43, had his own photo taken at the Tulsa Jail, where he was booked Friday night on a felony peeping Tom complaint, authorities said.

He was released Sunday on $1,000 bond and faces a Thursday court appearance before Tulsa County Special District Judge Millie Otey.

A felony charge of using video equipment -- a cellular phone -- for an illegal purpose was filed by prosecutors Wednesday against Batton.

Sand Springs Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter said Batton was arrested at the Warehouse Market after putting his camera-equipped cell phone under a woman's dress and taking a picture.

Carter said the 60-year-old shopper was unaware of what was going on, but after she found out, she agreed to press the complaint against Batton.

Carter said police caught up with Batton in the store after another shopper saw him bend down on the right side of the woman and put his hand up under her dress.

That shopper immediately notified off-duty Officer Kyle Alexander, who was working security at the store, Carter said.

When confronted by Alexander, Batton admitted taking a picture of the woman but insisted that the action was not illegal -- that he had seen it on a local television newscast, Carter said.

Even as he was being taken to jail, Batton -- who works for DirecTV -- "continued to profess that he had done nothing illegal," Carter said.

He said Batton told officers he "was just curious."

Peeping Tom charges are normally misdemeanors, but they become felonies whenever a device is used to record an image.

This apparently is Batton's first brush with the law, Carter said.

Man gets robbed and beat up by dancers at hotel

Austin TX [Austin Daily Herald.com] - A 75-year-old northern Iowa man reported two women at Austin's Countryside Inn beat him up Wednesday night and took several hundred dollars from his wallet.

The man told police he was waiting to check in at the hotel lobby when a woman in front of him invited him to her room. He went with her and once they got to her room, she reportedly asked him for money. He refused, but she got angry so he gave her $100, according to a police report.

When he refused to give her more, she called two people who were waiting in a car in the parking lot, and a second woman came to the room shortly after. The man told police they pounded on his back and scratched his arms, and he gave them $100 more.

He said the women kept hitting him and then took $400 to $500 from his wallet, gave it back to him, and told him to leave. The man said he went to the lobby, and the watched the women leave the hotel and get in a car driven by a man.

He got in his vehicle and followed their dark green car as it went west on Interstate 90 to Albert Lea, and then turn north on Interstate 35. At that point, the man stopped following the car and called police at 7:15 p.m.

The man later called police again to say that one of the woman had called him three times before he saw her at the hotel, and gave police the phone number. He also told police he heard the women had come to Austin to dance but the business was closed.

Lions assistant arrested for nude driving

Detroit_Lions_Logo.jpg
Detroit [WZZM 13] - A Detroit Lions assistant coach was arrested twice in the last two weeks, once for allegedly driving drunk and once for indecent and obscene conduct, the Free Press has learned.

In the latter incident, a Dearborn police ticket describes the coach as “driving on public street without any clothes on.

Joe Cullen, whom first-year head coach Rod Marinelli hired from the University of Illinois, coaches the defensive line. Cullen, 38, posted bond in both misdemeanor cases and was still coaching the Lions at practice Wednesday.

He walked away from a Free Press reporter who wanted to ask him about the incidents, but later the team released a statement from Cullen.

“I would like to apologize to the Detroit Lions organization, our fans, my family and friends for any embarrassment these incidents have caused. These incidents represent a mistake in judgment on my part. I deeply regret them and have learned a valuable lesson. It won't happen again,'' Cullen said in the statement.

Lions officials said Cullen has requested treatment.

The nudity incident happened Aug. 24 about 11:15 p.m., the night before the Lions flew to the west coast for a game against the Oakland Raiders.

Police stopped Cullen in his car, which was traveling eastbound on Michigan near Lapham Street. The ticket does not provide any other information about why Cullen allegedly was nude. The Lions said alcohol was involved.

A week later, Dearborn police again arrested Cullen, this time about 11:48 p.m. on Sept. 1, the night after the Lions lost their final exhibition game to the Buffalo Bills at Ford Field.

Court records show Cullen had a blood alcohol content of .12 after police stopped his 2006 Ford Explorer as it traveled west on Michigan near Tenny. Michigan law sets .08 as the legal limit.

Cullen, who lives in Dearborn, is scheduled to appear in 19th District Court next week on both cases..

Marinelli, asked about the arrests after Wednesday's practice, declined to comment and referred questions to Lions president Matt Millen, “It's a personal issue right now,'' Marinelli said. “Matt's going to handle it.''

Millen released a statement later, saying, “We are obviously very disappointed. These are very serious matters that will be handled sternly and appropriately by our organization. Coach Cullen requested immediate help in seeking treatment. That assistance has been provided and a comprehensive, private program has been established for him.”

Cullen was fired from the University of Mississippi in early 2005 after an alcohol-related arrest at a restaurant. Athletic Director Pete Boone said Wednesday that no one from the Lions organization contacted him for a reference.

When asked whether the Lions were aware of Cullen's history and whether he would be disciplined for the current situation, Millen would only say, “This will be handled the same way any of these situations will be handled with a player. And that's that it will remain confidential and private. We will respect the privacy of the person and we would expect that you respect that also.”

Cullen has also coached at Indiana, Memphis, Richmond, Louisiana State and the University of Massachusetts, where he played nose guard from 1986-1989.

Paris Hilton Booked on DUI Charges

Show of hands. Anyone shocked by this?

LOS ANGELES [AP] -- Paris Hilton was arrested early Thursday for investigation of driving under the influence, police said.

Hilton was arrested shortly before 12:30 a.m. after being pulled over in Hollywood, said police Officer I. Isabella, who declined to give his first name.

Police stopped Hilton because she was "driving erratically," he said.

"The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. A field sobriety test was conducted at scene, and the officers determined she was driving under the influence," Isabella said, reading a police statement.

Hilton was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and released, he said.

Her spokesman, Elliot Mintz, confirmed the arrest and said police detected the minimum blood-alcohol level to warrant an arrest. The legal limit in California is 0.08 percent.

"She's absolutely fine," Mintz said. "She didn't appear in the least bit to be intoxicated."

At the time of her arrest, Hilton was driving home in her Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren from a charity event where she had one drink, a margarita, he said. She had spent the day shooting a music video for her new album, "Paris."

The driving under the influence symptoms were "probably the result of an empty stomach and working all day and being fatigued," Mintz said.

She was picked up from the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood station by her sister, Nicky, Nicky's boyfriend, actor Kevin Connolly, and Mintz.

In June, Hilton had a fender-bender accident when her Range Rover backed into a car in a parking garage after a shopping trip.

Week One NFL Picks

helmet2.jpg - Last year the Pornlegends' staff posted a 177-79 record in picking games. Not too bad for a bunch of perverts. Let's get their take on the NFL's week one games.

Pittsburgh 21 Miami 17 - Missing their QB will have little effect on the Steelers. Pittsburgh's defense will save the day.

Denver 24 St. Louis 10 - Broncos should have little trouble taking care of the rebuilding Rams.

Tennessee 31 Jets 17 - Friends and family of the players should enjoy this train wreck.

New England 38 Buffalo 14 - Speaking of train wrecks....

Tampa 28 Baltimore 17 - A coming out party for Chris Simms?

Cincinnati 35 Kansas City 28 - KC fans should get used to high scores and few wins.

Seattle 35 Detroit 17 - A little late, but the Seahawks get their win at Ford Field.

Carolina 24 Atlanta 17 - Panthers start their march to the Super Bowl?

Philadelphia 24 Houston 10 - Eagles get an early gift.

New Orleans 27 Cleveland 14 - Cleveland will want to rock Romeo Crennel out of the state of Ohio.

Jacksonville 31 Dallas 21 - Could be the game of the week. Big Tuna gets hooked by the Jags.

Chicago 24 Green Bay 14 - The Packers could pull the upset. It would not surprise us.

Arizona 24 49ers 17 - Dennis Green gets the Cardinals off to a flying start.

Indianapolis 31 Giants 24 - Brother v. Brother. We like the brother from Indiana to pull it out.

Washington 31 Minnesota 17 - Money can't buy you a Super Bowl, but it will buy you a win against the Vikings.

San Diego 38 Oakland 14 - This one may get ugly.

Pornlegends' Fearless Football Forecast

NFLLOGO.jpg - Next to looking at naked women all day, our second favorite sport is football. High school, college or pro, it really doesn't matter as long as someone is playing with the skin of the pig. If football is not the greatest game ever invented, then we don't know what is.

Below is the Pornlegends' Fearless Football Forecast for the 2006 season. Enjoy.

NFC North - The Chicago Bears should have an easy time of it repeating as division champions this year. However, the Bears must get production from their offense to advance in the playoffs. The Lions, Vkings and Packers each start the year with new coaches. We expect Minnesota and the Packers to battle for second place.

NFC South - The second strongest division in the NFC, we believe that Carolina and Tampa will fight it out all season for the division title with the Panthers winning it. We expect Atlanta to take a step back this year. We just don't trust Michael Vick at QB. New Orleans will be improved, but being in such a difficult divison doesn't help them.

NFC East - The strongest division in the NFC, all four teams have a shot at the division title [yes, even the Eagles]. We like the Giants winning in the end with Dallas and Philadelphia fighting it out for second place. Washington...money can't buy you love or a championship.

NFC West - Seattle will come in first, second and third place in this division. Arizona is much better but don't expect much out of the 49ers and Rams.

AFC North - Once again we expect Cincinnati and Pittsburgh to battle it out for the division with the Bengals winning it. Cleveland may rock, but their football team sucks. Baltimore has some big names but age and injury will make for a long season in Ravenland.

AFC South - Give it to the Colts. WRONG! This is the year for Jacksonville to finally climb over the Colts and take the division. Both Tennessee and Houston will show some improvement but both those teams are a few years away from doing much in this division.

AFC East - Miami is the hot new team this year, but we still like New England to take this division. The Jets and Buffalo will battle for next year's #1 draft pick.

AFC West - If San Diego can get steady production from their QB, then the Chargers will win the division. We expect Denver to take a step back this year. Kansas City may have a say in the division as well. We like the Raiders, but this is a rebuilding year.

Super Bowl - Carolina v. Jacksonville

Let the games begin!
